Hamilton Point Welcomes Gabriel Pardo from Duke University’s
International Development Policy Program
June 2, 2008
Hamilton Point welcomes a new intern for the summer,
Gabriel Pardo, from the International Development Policy
program at Duke University. Gabriel is conducting a “sustainability
audit” and will report on all of Hamilton Point’s
Global Core stocks with regard to sustainability and
other environmentally sensitive initiatives.
“We fully recognize the investment opportunity
created by the sustainable resource management ‘mega
trend’ and look forward to the valuable research
that Gabriel will contribute,” explains President
and Chief Investment Officer, Andrew C. Burns. “While
higher energy prices dampen some aspects of the economy,
they bolster business plans geared toward alternative
energy sources and solutions.”
Many of Hamilton Point’s Global Core holdings
sell products related to wind power, water desalination
and high efficiency controls. Hamilton Point also owns
a focused fund which invests in companies which garner
more than 50% of revenues from “cleantech” innovation.
The firm also recently added to the Global Core Buy
List, four companies which improve the productivity
of farmers, surveyors and utilities.
Hamilton Point conducts original, in-house research
into economic trends and the financial statements of
public companies. It invests in individually purchased
bonds, stocks and funds for investors with a minimum
targeted investment portfolio of $1 million who want
to personally know and have regular interaction with
their money manager. Hamilton Point's diversified strategy
employs equity investment indicators such as strong
management, balance sheet /debt capacity and a favorable
comparison of public valuation with Hamilton Point's
proprietary analysis of a “going private” value.
