Rick WOODS EARNS CFA DESIGNATION

Chapel Hill Investment Adviser Completes Globally Recognized Chartered Financial Analyst Program. Local Firm Grows in Midst of Financial Crisis.

Chapel Hill, NC – Richard S. Woods, Chief Operating Officer of Hamilton Point Investment Advisors, LLC in Chapel Hill, NC has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. “The CFA Program has been a valuable supplement to my financial work experience and other business training,” explained Woods. Woods is a Charlotte native and a graduate of Duke University's Fuqua School of Business and its Trinity School of Arts and Sciences.  

Before co-founding Hamilton Point with Andrew Burns, Woods served as a Senior Manager of Finance & Deal Analysis for CNN Worldwide. Woods has also worked for a private investment fund and as an investment banker for Soles Brower Smith & Co. in Greensboro, NC providing mergers, acquisitions and corporate finance advisory services to corporations located in the Southeast.

Hamilton Point is an independent portfolio management firm in Chapel Hill, conducting original, in-house research. Founded in October 2007, Hamilton Point has grown to manage over $70 million of balanced, equity and fixed income accounts. “Our investment philosophy centers on carefully researched, individually-purchased bonds, stocks and funds,” explained President Andrew Burns. “Particularly in the market turmoil of the last two years, we find that investors appreciate Hamilton Point’s approach focused on direct client interaction with those performing the investment research.”
